Female Artist Friday: Anna Williams

As a female founded brand in a male dominated tattoo world, it only felt right to do more as a brand to support female tattoo artists. This is why we created our new series were we celebrate female tattoo artists who build their own paths and make a mark in what the tattoo world is today.

This Female Artist Friday we are highlighting Anna Williams

A Los Angeles based female tattoo artist who also is the co-founder of Twice Rabbit Tattoo



We asked Anna a few questions to get to know her and her work better so let's dive in:

1. What first inspired you to become a tattoo artist, and how did you get started?
Anna: I dreamt of being a tattoo artist when I was in High School, but wasn’t sure it was possible. I went to art school and studied illustration. I met my amazing mentor Angie there and by the time I graduated she brought me on to her studio and taught me how to tattoo.

2. What is your favorite style or subject to tattoo, and what do you love about it?
Anna: I think my style is a combination of woodcut/engraving and blackwork traditional. But I also don’t know. I’ve just always loved drawing.



3. What inspires your art outside of tattooing? Think music, fashion, nature, film, or everyday life?
Anna: I love Amyl and The Sniffers and Wet Leg. I also love comedy. Robby Hoffman is my favorite comedian.

4. What do you wish more people knew about being a tattoo artist?
Anna: Tattooing is the greatest job in the world and boy do I wish we had health insurance!



5. What would you tell your younger self? Whether it's about art, confidence, business, or finding your place in the industry.
Anna: I would tell my younger self to quit drinking sooner.

6. What’s one thing you’re obsessed with? A song, a movie, a beauty product, a hobby, your latest creative obsession. Anything goes.
Anna: My favorite YouTube video of all time is Kim Cattrall scatting. The he dogs and the she dogs. It’s made me laugh for years. Enjoy.
