Welcome to TATTOO TALK, a monthly column on our blog. Here we dive into the tattoo stories of our favorite people of the internet!
Today, we sat down with Emily Sullivan to chat about all things tattoos.
RJ: We are eager to get to know you Emily, tell us about yourself!
Emily: My name is Emily Sullivan, I am from Bozeman Montana! I am currently a new mom to my sweet daughter, Sage. I am also a content creator! I mostly use instagram and my page is @emilysullivan
RJ: How old were you when you got your first tattoo & what inspired you to get tattooed?
Emily: I got my first tattoo when i was 17, my mom had to go with me and we had to bring my birth certificate hahahha. It is a floral wrap around my upper arm. My grandma was the inspiration behind it, her favorite flowers were forget-me-nots, so i wanted to get a tattoo that had those flowers to remember her!
RJ: Did you always had the intention to get as many tattoos as you have or did it gradually become an obsession?
Emily: I don’t think i always wanted to be as heavily tatooed, but a couple years after my first tattoo, i started getting more into the culture behind tattooing, especially American traditional tattoos.
RJ: How do you feel your tattoos have influenced your personal style or identity?
Emily: I always used to think of myself as someone who was kind of boring and didn’t stand out very much. Getting tattooed has made me feel more unique and interesting! It has definitely boosted my confidence.
RJ: Do you have a favorite tattoo among the ones you have? If so, why is it your favorite?
Emily: My favorite tattoo at the moment is my new rose on my hand! it’s my favorite because i got it from a tattooer that i’ve been wanting to get tattooed by for a long time! He is a very big part of the tattoo industry! (Paul Dobleman)
RJ: Our mission at REBEL JUNE is to revolutionize tattoo aftercare by offering a unique blend of aesthetics, functionality, and wellness. What is a wellness routine you practice on a daily basis?
Emily: I think going out and getting myself a coffee is a big part of my wellness routine. It’s a small thing but i think it’s important because it makes sure i’m doing something for myself every day.
RJ: Did you ever get tattooed spontaneously? And if so, what is the story behind it?
Emily: I honestly feel like most of my tattoos have been spontaneous! Having a tattoo artist as a spouse, i love to just let him have free rein to get creative and tattoo anything he wants!
RJ: Do you have a go-to tattoo artist that you go to?
RJ: Do you have any band lyrics or references tattooed?
Emily: I do actually! I have a couple lyrics by Lana Del Rey and Frank Ocean :)
RJ: Last but not least, shout yourself out where can every one find you!
